August continues our three-part series on the Leadership System. In July, we rolled out the overview of the research-based practices for the Leadership System. This month, we have completed the progress indicators that focus on the actions of a district leader. The formula for student success extends beyond what’s taught in the classroom. The intentional actions of district leaders -- including superintendents, central office leaders, building leaders, and others -- play a key role in improving teaching and learning. As district leaders set the stage for another school year, a focus on key actions that align to the research-based practices of the Leadership System will support leaders in developing the capacity for instruction and student support, while managing district systems for continuous improvement.
